Social Shopping will grow 10 to 25 times in the next 5 years
Marc-Antoine Ross October 22nd, 2010
I’ve been screaming left and right for the past months that the Social Commerce revolution is on its way. Now that we’ve entered Q4, it looks like the industry is finally validating my statements. Long gone the “web 2.0″ era… Right? We don’t see it anymore. It’s all about social commerce, social shopping, f-commerce, group buying… you name it.

Well, this trend has excited VCs and we’ve been seing funds announcements lately. It’s good for the ecosystem. It took a lot of gut for startups to move in the social shopping wave as dollar signs were the evil, the dark force, on social networks. Now that everybody is starting to embrasse this trend, the startups who did an early move should be able to pivot around their concept until it gains adoption and win more market share. As the co-founder of SoftCity, the leading software social commerce site, I am really excited by 2011’s outlook. We have a solid foundation and are ready to tackle small and large battles to work with our community of enthusiasts.
Developers, have you engaged your users in a rewarding dialog? If not, it’s still time…
